  1. From the server move the file to the local C drive.
  2. From the C drive, Open the file in QuickBooks

  6. You need to close the company file.

Solution 2: Rename.ND and.TLG file

  1. where the company file is saved, Open the folder
  2. you have to right-click the corresponding.ND file of your company file.
    For Example MyCompanyName.qbw.an
  3. you need to Right click the.ND file and select Rename.
  4. at the end of the file name, Add .old
    For Example: MyCompanyName.qbw.nd.old
  5. Repeat same steps above for the.TLG file
  6. You have to open your QuickBooks Desktop Company file.

Solution 3: Create a new Windows User

  1. You have to click the Windows Start button.
  2. Click on the Control Panel.
  3. Click on User Accounts Icon.
  4. You have to select Create New User option.
  5. Make sure to select Administrator for user type.
  6. You need to Log out of the current user.

    • close QuickBooks Desktop, When the Update Complete message appears,
    • Open QuickBooks on your Desktop.
    • click Yes, If you get the message to install the update,
    • restart your computer When the installation is complete,

Solution 5: Ensure that QuickBooks is not running as administrator

  1. you have to Right-click QuickBooks icon
  2. select the Properties and click on the Compatibility Tab.
  3. You need to Deselect Run this program as Administrator.
  4. then first select the “Show Settings for All Users“, If Run this program as Administrator is grayed out,
  5. you have to Click Okay.
  6. Now Exit and restart QuickBooks.

Solution 6: Recreate damaged folder

  1. on your C:\ drive, Create a new folder
  2. where the company file is saved, Open the folder
  3. Locate the .qbw file.
    For Example company_file.qbw
  4. You need to Right-click the .qbw file and select Copy.
  5. right-click to Open the new folder, and select Paste.
  6. to share company files, Set Windows access permissions
  7. you have to Open QuickBooks Desktop and open the file from the new location.
