Why this error 176103 happens?

Following are the reasons that cause 176103 errors to occur:

  • When License number is incorrect.
  • Computer system date may be incorrect.
  • Wrong validation number is entered while upgrading QuickBooks Point of Sale
  • Old version of CD is inserted at the time registration
  •  You are logged into windows as administrator
  • When there are damaged files in the entitled folder of QuickBooks Point of Sale.

Troubleshooting Steps for Error Code 176103

Check out the troubleshooting steps for different versions of your desktop. There are 4  resolutions to these errors.

Solution 1: Make sure the validation code is entered correctly

Try to enter the correct validation code without the use of hyphens and spaces. Contact the Technical Support team to ensure you enter the correct validation code.

Solution 2: Check the computer’s system set date

From System Tray

  • On the system tray, right-click the time or date and click Change date and time settings.
  • From the Date and Time window, click change date and time.
  • Update your PC’s time and date.

Windows 7 and Vista

  • Click the Windows Start button and choose Control Panel.
  • On the Control panel window, click Clock, Language, and Region.
  • Click Date and Time.

Windows 8,8.1 and 10

  • Right click the windows icon on your desktop and click on control panel
  • On the Control panel window, click Clock, Language, and Region.
  • Click Date and Time.

Solution 3: Delete the contents of the Point Of Sale entitlement folder and try again

Windows 7 and Vista

  • Right-click the Windows Start button and select Open Windows Explorer.
  • Click Organize and select Folder and Search Options.
  • Click the View tab, select Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.
  • Navigate in the left window to C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8
  • Press the CTRL + Akeys to select all the files in the folder and then press Delete.
  • Open Point of Sale again and complete the registration process again. If the error persists, try solution 4.

Windows 8

  • Drag your mouse to the lower-left corner, right-click the Start button and then choose File Explorer.
  • Click the View tab and check the Hidden items
  • Navigate in the left window to C:\Program Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8.
  • Press the CTRL + Akeys to select all the files in the folder and then press Delete.
  • Open Point of Sale again and complete the registration process If the error persists, try solution 4.

Windows 10

  • Click on the Folder icon on the bottom of the desktop screen this is the  File Explorer.
  • Click the View tab and check the Hidden items
  • Navigate in the left window to C:\Program Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8.
  • Press the CTRL + A keys to select all the files in the folder and then press Delete.
  • Open Point of Sale again and complete the registration process again. If the error persists, try solution 4.

Windows XP

  • Right-click the Windows Start button and select Explore.
  • Select the Tools menu and select Folder Options.
  • Click the View tab and check the Hide extensions for known file types
  • Select Show hidden files and folders and clear Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).
  • Click OK.
  • Navigate in the left window to the location: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8. To navigate, click the plus sign (+) next to each folder listed.
  • Right-click the first file in this folder and select Delete. Click Yes and repeat for each additional file in the v8
  • Open Point of Sale again and complete the registration process again. If the error persists, try solution 2.

 Solution 4: Delete the contents of the Intuit Entitlement Folder

  • Go to: C:\Program Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8.
  • On your keyboard, press CTRL + A to select all files in the folder then press Delete.
  • Open Point of Sale and complete the registration process. If the error persists, try solution 2.
