1. Error Initializing QBPOS Application Log

Error initializing QBPOS application log error in QuickBooks is caused by damage to windows system files. The window files that are damaged can affect the wellness of your computer system.

There are two solutions to troubleshoot this issue. The first solution will resolve your problem or you need to follow both.

Solution 1

  1. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL keys on your keyboard and select Task Manager.
  2. On the Processes tab, select QBPOSShelland then clicks on End Task.
  3. Drag your mouse to the lower-left corner, right-click Start and then choose File Explorer or Open Windows Explorer (for Windows 7 and Vista).
  4. Click the View tab and check the Hidden items
    For Win 7 and Vista: Click Organize and then choose Folder and Search Options.
  5. In the left window, click This PC or Computer (for Windows 7 and Vista) and go to C:\Users\{User logged on}\AppData\Local\Intuit\QBPOSShell.exe…\{last modified folder}
  6. Right-click the config file and choose rename, rename the file to user.configold.
  7. Close the window and open QuickBooks Point of Sale for Desktop.

Solution 2

  1. Click Windows Start and select Control Panel.
  2. ClickUser Accounts.
  3. Click Manage another account. (Skip this if you use Vista.)
  4. Click Create a new account.
  5. Add a name to the account and select Administrator.
  6. Click Create account.
  7. Restart the computer and sign in to the new administrator account.
  8. QuickBooks Point of Sale for Desktop.

2. Error 176103

When attempting to validate a Quickbooks for Point of Sale Desktop license, the following error occurs:

               Error Message 176103: Unable to activate the product

This error occurs for different reasons such as when we enter wrong validation code for an upgrade copy of point to sale, the license number is not correct or computer system date may be set incorrectly.

Below are the troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue

Solution 1

The validation code should be entered without hyphens or spaces.To verify that the right validation code is used, contact Technical Support.

Solution 2

  1. Right-click the Windows Start button and choose Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Click Organize and choose Folder and Search Options.
  3. Click the View tab, select Show hidden files and folders, and then click to clear the Hide protected operating files checkbox.
  4. When a warning appears, click Yes> Ok.

3. Error 176109

This error may be caused by an incorrect product code has been used to install point of sale or point or sale entitle folder contains damaged files or you are not logged into windows as an administrator.

We recommend you  2 solutions for this problem. The first solution may resolve your problem, or you may need to try both.

Solution 1

  1. Drag your mouse to the lower-left corner, right-click the Start button and then choose File Explorer.
  2. Click the View tab and check the Hidden item’s checkbox.
  3. Navigate in the left window to C:\Program Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8.
  4. Press the CTRL + Akeys to select all the files in the folder and then press Delete.
  5. Open Point of Sale again and complete the registration process again. If the error persists, try solution 2.

Solution 2

  1. Uninstall Point of Sale.
  2. Reinstall Point of Sale from a CD or download.
  3. If the error recurs, run a repair installation on Point of Sale, verifying the Product Number and License Number. (If the product and/or license numbers are incorrect, enter the correct numbers during this process.)
  4. Open Point of Sale and register if prompted.

4. Error 100

The reasons for the Error 100 to occur are Point of Sale database manager may not be working or system resources are low. Let’s check out the solution for this problem

Solution

  1. Click Ok to the Error 100 dialog box
  2. Restart your computer
  3. Attempt opening the Point of Sale application
  4. In case the error persists:
    • Windows 7 or Vista: Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Run
    • Windows XP: Go to Start -> Choose Run
  1. Enter services.msc in the Open field -> Click OK
  2. Click on the QuickBooks Database Manager vXX and select Start. (Where vXX refers to the highest QBPOS version you see). In case of Start is unavailable -> Choose Restart

5. QuickBooks Point of Sale Financial Exchange Error

One of the most common errors reported by the users is financial exchange error. In this error when the user tries to enter the received inventory in the software and when attempts to QuickBooks financial software to run an inventory report, there is no money displayed in the inventory assets. Let’s see the solution to this error

Solution

  1. Check the Activity Log in Financial > Financial Center to see if you are getting any financial exchange errors. If you are, the log will give you a clue as to what’s wrong. It’s usually because something is missing in QuickBooks.
  2. Check your default mapping accounts in File > Preferences > Company > Accounts. The default inventory account is on the Basic tab, but you might want to check accounts on the Advanced tab while you’re there.

6. Error code 175305- Storage Exchange Error

This error is caused by either windows firewall is interfering with the store exchange process or you are not logged into Microsoft windows as an administrator. To resolve the issue you need to perform the following steps.

Solution

  1. From the File menu, select Preferences and click Company.
  2. ClickMulti-Store and select Store Exchange.
  3. Take note of the current preference.
  4. SelectNot Used for each store and click Save.
  5. Re-open the Company Preferences window (File > Company Preferences > Multi-Store > Store Exchange).
  6. Re-enter the original company preference for each store’s communication method and click save.
  7. Perform another cycle of Store Exchange (Stores > Send File).

7. Error 1706 No Valid Source could be found when Opening Point of Sale

This error mainly occurs during the installation of QuickBooks Point of Sale or when you try to update QB POS v 12 to release 6. The following message occurs when the computer is switched on and Point of Sale installer starts: “1706 No valid source could be found”

 Solution:

  1. Run the Microsoft FixIt tool for corruption issues
  2. Reinstall Point of Sale.
  3. Update your program to the most current release.
